HEALTH SCENERIO: (BPL Categories):
World Health Organisation (WHO) has stated that sound health includes both physical & mental health. However, the health status is far away than expected. The families living Below the Poverty Line (BPL) are not availaing minimum health facilities and are staying in adverse health conditions. Most of such families do not get two times sufficient meals. For good health a individual has to get balanced food, and live away from bad habits like smoking, drinking etc, however, it is a fact that most of the poor fall a pray to all such bad habits. All types of health ailmements & diseases are observed amongst them. As they are not aware of available health facilies spend lot of money on treatment. The poor families due to such unwanted & unexpected expenses further grieve into poverty.

HEALTH NEEDS OF BPL FAMILIES:
The survey data analysis & field level experience show that BPL families are facing lot of health ailments including minor & major diseases. Due to reasons such as malnutrition, lack of balanced diet, negligence leads to serious illnesses. Due to poverty & lack of income sources most of the people avoid the timely treatment, which further affects adversely. So, outside financial support will help to treat most needly patients. For dreaded diseases such as Cancer, Heart Diseases, Diabetis, HIV/AIDs etc. the estimated budgets are in the range of Rs. 1.00 lac. to 3.00 lac. The BPL families are not able to raise such big amounts, so their treatment is depending on the availability of outside funds.
